I like the idea of having what amounts to a red dot then flipping a lever and getting 4x.
I'm not sure I care for the micro-red dots sticking up so high when mounted on an ACOG. I do lean some to the ACOG for the indestructible nature, curios if the Elcan is as tough?????
Like I said.........I don't care for the Specter. If I want a multi power optic, I'll use a scope.
A 3x ACOG is what I wanted,.....a 3x ACOG is what I bought.
Why the hell do threads always turn into "this shit is better, you should have bought this"
Get sick of that shit!
Sorry, didn't intend on starting any pissing match . I have no clue what is better, never had a chance to use any of them, that is why I ask so many questions of those that have. Someday I'll lay out the cash but I like to hear all the opinions a couple times before I do. Guess I'd rather ask and piss you off than buy and piss me off, selfish but sensible in my book.
Any rate..........I am not much of a fan of multi task items. There is always a compromise with those. I prefer to have something that does one thing and that only.
ACOG TA33, weight, 11.74 ounces, 3.75" eye relief
Specter DR, weight, just over 20 ounces, 2.75" eye relief
That makes the "red dot" part of the Specter DR no comparison to an aimpoint or eotech then, hard to get fast target acquisition with that kind of eye relief.......
