Was sighting in a rifle today and came to the point where I needed to adjust it "up" some more, buuuuut the dial was already turned as far as it would in the "up" position. Anything I can do? Remount it, put a small layer of foil in the under side of the front scope ring? I haven't had this problem before so I'm not to sure how to address it...

Thanks,

Something just does not add up,......what rifle, rings and scope?
You should not be running out of elevation. Are you sighting in at 1k meters?
It's on my Sig 716, .5 inch riser rail, weaver rings, and leupold vx 2 3-9x40. Now that I think about it I think it had a shim in it, I just had no idea what it was when I took it off an old 30-06. I hope I can find the thing and didn't trash it.
A steel shim if you have to would be best :twocents: As far as that goes.
Although I have never run into this problem, Maybe ya got a bad set of rings or need to lap them in!

Its more the crush factor and 'flow' of soft alum. Tighten down on it and it will only get larger and thinner, not something you would want to shim up a scope...
