Impending Legislation and Reloading Repercussions

I have also been stocking up since the literature of the bill was released, heck really before that. Really since the re-election of Obama. The crazy thing is that I literally live right next to DPMS and the Del-Tone range in St. Cloud, MN and no one can get munition, AR's, magazines, etc. Really everything is gone. So if anyone finds a good deal on powder, primers, bullets, brass, etc let us know!

This could all chock-up to panic buying however, I would also like to make sure that I am settled as far as material is concerned. I almost know for a FACT that Feinstein's bill wont even make it past committee, let-alone make it to the floor. However, there will absolutely be something that is going to be passed to regulate what we love so much. We just haven't seen that bill yet. Obama has even stated that he will support some form of gun control and it is his first priority of his new administration.

Really though, who knows what's going to happen, I would just like to be prepared.

Your right it won't probably get out of committee. I have done some lobbying in Washington, and there are hundreds of ways to derail a bill. I just hope this doesn't get linked in to the fiscal negotiations as a bargaining piece. That could be trouble. I was lucky, I got an order in right before things went wacko. I am guessing it will take at least a year to stabilize. That gives me time to organize my reloading club. Also don't underestimate Diane Feinstein. She is a very manipulative sort who always has a hidden agenda for what she does.

I really does hope it takes that long to organize. I'm a Political Science Major and from what I have seen in this Administration, if Obama wants it done and Congress doesn't, it just one executive order away from being law. I honestly would not put it past him to actually see Exec Order 1302 be a gun control regulation. Since the first one is to give congress a pay raise of course.

I hope it takes time so I have time to get set-up as well. Time will tell!

Ok, finally someone who may be able to answer my question...How Can "The President"...so to speak given Obama, pass a "Law" without Congress "approving it"...as to what I was taught, that is "Illegal" unless in a time of war....so how does he get away with it without being "charged with Treason"...According to the Constitution....?????
As far as this gun Ban...all I can say...is if it does Pass, Be Prepared for the "Worse"....GUN-CONTROL is not about Public Safety...it is about Control..and Fear...The governments "Fear" of us and the Constitution...
that is what GC is about...

I am really in dout that things are going to turn out well for gun owners, and it is not going to take long, I just wish people out hoping for gun control would realize that once the ball is rolling on our right to keep and bear arms, that there freedom of speech is next. It will have to be they won't be able to go on like nothing has happen, to one without taking away the other. The people of this country just will not look at the past to see the guvment can not control everything, it didn't work for the Roman's it didn't work for Hitler, and it will not work now. But there are dark days ahead. Just my 2 cents

Well how it works is like this. An executive order is a mechanism in place to allow the president of the United States to make drastic and necessary regulations that are essentially laws. For an example, after Pearl Harbor was attacked we detained All Japanese Americans into labor camps. That was done by an executive order as it had to be done immediately considering our nations security. He's used it for his bias agenda, like SOPA/PIPA bills and giving Congress a Pay raise this year. That was all executive orders. Essentially he is abusing the system to a point where he is taking the legislature out of our Tri-cameral government. Basically staring a minor dictatorship if you will.

So, no we do not need to be at war to issue an executive order. They can be used at any time. It's just that Obama is using them like children eat M&M's. he can effectively pass an executive order banning all guns. That's an extreme scenario but hey, it's Obama.

So where does that leave us. Well, the only way to repeal and Executive Order is by a 2/3 vote in both the House and Senate. Which right now is slim to none that the EO would be repealed.

I see this as an extremely plausible action for the Obama admin. If the bills fail in congress.
