I was going threw this topic and find that the information on the bullet speed with a 16 inch barrel listed wrong, I checked the listed speed in the new 2010 Hodgon reloading magazine and found that in the pistol data they show a speed of 2580 with a 168gr bullet and a speed of 2675 with a 150 gr bullet and this is with a listed 15 inch barrel so if the 60 fps per inch rule holds the you could get a speed of 2600 fps plus with 168gr and 2700 fps plus with 150 gr. Based on this information it is better by far that the listed 2390 shown for 30-30 150 gr and 2140 shown for the 170 gr with far better down range ballistics because of better bullet design. Just my two cents.
Good info on the reloading data....thanks. Throw in some Hornady Superformance ammo and the velocity will be even better.
I just received my 16 inch .308 T. Looks great, I like the fact that it is contoured under the handguard (like the M15 version I already have). Makes for a light weight carbine.
I have not yet shot it...I'll get that info out later.
Thanks again for all your info. Please post your review of the ar10t 16 inch in this thread. Also how many months did you have wait after you ordered it?
I will, waiting on an ammo shipment. I actually bought the upper from a guy on gunbroker.com. It shipped to my door in about 4 days, new in the box. Here is the link....I spoke with him, he is a dealer who got several when Armalite made for this year's shot show:

I have a heavy barrel 16" free floated AR10. When strapped to the bench the impact points touch each other at 200 yards using L2A2 and an EOTech 552. Worse in my hands but still in the black.
I'd agree the 16" doesn't take full advantage of the cartridge, but it's more power than the .223 with better accuracy than the 7.62x39. I picked the 16" AR10 over the 6.5 or 6.8 rifles because of the availability and versatility of the 308, and the fact I can slap a 20+ inch upper on the AR10 with long range optics and immediately get the full power of the cartridge.
