Hello everyone, I'm want to buy an armalite ar10t 16 inch ss barrel. The website says 1 moa and I was wondering why anyone would get the same rifle with the heavier 20 inch barrel and the same listed moa? Also, what are the different lengths of pull on the adjustible stock and is it worth getting that instead of the plain stock?
I'll let you know when mine comes in. There is a guy on gunbroker.com selling them.
Going to put a lower power optic (leupold 1.5-5x20) on mine and use it as a pig gun. My 20 inch upper has the Leupold 4.5-14x50 Ill. #4, use it for longer ranges....for deer etc.
Sure, some velocity is lost when you go shorter...but should make for a handy woods, closer rang carbine....should be just as accurate as the 20 inch.
I think accuracy was one of the main points of the original post when he asked about the listed moa. I understand what you are saying though...accuracy will not be affected, just energy on target and amount of bullet drop over distance.

Thanks again for all your replies, I plan on using it for white tail deer and target shooting at the range 300 yards and under. Also I have a mini 14 and I like the length of pull which is 13 1/4" and I was wondering if one of the notches on the colapsible stock lines up to that.
The 16 inch barrel is pretty popular. I would guess that some of the 16 inch fans will jump in soon. Personally, for the reasons noted by MSH, I would go for a longer barrel - but that's me.
One item that has not been mentioned - the 16 inch barrel is louder than a 20 inch barrel.
Like so many things in life, it's a trade off - velocity vs portability.
