Excellent forum. Great information on the AR 10. Not new to the Semi Auto Rifles in the .308 cal, but yesterday I bought an Armalite AR 10T Navy 16. The only concern I have is the magazines. Acording to the dealer the rifle was built in 1969. I have not seen any mags available that look like the mags that came with the rifle. They're original Armalites mags. In the follower they have a spring loaded plunger. The serial number is US 51xxx. Where would I find extra mags for it. Again excellent forum...looking forward to learn more about the AR 10 and thanks in advance for any help with my concern.
Welcome to the forum! We WILL be needing pics go that old Armalite!
Those mags are Gen I mags, Gen 2 mags, available from Armalite will work just fine!
Oh Man, great find  Pictures would be great. Are these the early waffle style mags? I see them come on on ebay but only seldom, maybe once a year. I never realized there was a T model that early. maybe dfc5343 will chime in, he has a book with lots of history on the AR-10.
Welcome, from eastern Montana.
1969, that is an early year, all I have to say about that is, NICE, being the mags is close to the M1A1 mags, they should be the same is the latest mags being built today.
