Hey, just bought my first AR. I have been wanting a AR-10 since I had a problem with hogs destroying green fields last September. I killed a few with a lever 30/30 but I need to have faster follow up shots. I ordered a DPMS compact hunter a for its light weight and short barrel should make for a perfect deer and pig gun. After stopping by a local gun store they just received a Armalite AR10-A4CBF so I bought it at MSRP and a eotech 517 to top it. I believe this is my go to gun for hunting, I may even sale my Browning Abolt medallion .300 wsm as this gun takes its place.
First congratulations on the AR10. It is a great rifle. Might want to consider a suppressor for hog hunting. Lets you take out more than one at a time, if circumstances dictate. As good as it is I would keep the A Bolt, that is a nice distance gun. A lot of good knowledgable people on this site. Welcome aboard! :twothumbs:
ditto on keeping the A bolt, especially till ammo becomes more readily available. 300 wsm may sit on the shelves longer that 308, which in my neighborhood , are not on the shelves at all.
:welcome:
I disagree. You should sell me the Browning so you can afford that suppressor for the AR-10. I have been looking for a good .300 wsm bolt gun  .
Welcome to the forum. You are going to enjoy that new AR-10.
Welcome.
I agree on keeping the 300. Right now it is one of the few ammo types still on the shelf around here. I had an FN SPR in 300wsm and it will always be one of the rifles i kick myself for selling at least once a day, and twice on range days.
Good on you for the AR10, not sure where you live but no matter the AR packs the punch you need for the big hogs and if you got a few of the hi-cap mags then you will be good for when they pack charges...
