Got a call this morning from a hospital in Duluth, Mn. My older sister had been transferred there with Pneumonia from a smaller hospital yesterday. At that time was doing pretty well. Long story short, she had a turn for the worse. Now on life support and it doesn't look good. Been here all day, waiting now to pick up my other sister who has flown in from England. Any prayers for her would be appreciated. Thank you.
Our Thoughts and Prayers are with you and your family Siscowet  These are tough times that all of our families have to go through at some point in time, we just like to delay them for as long as possible. Best wishes from everyone here we all know that numbers do matter and we are all  for your sister.

Thank you and bless you all. Here is an update. She has been diagosed with Blastomycosis Pneumonia, very rare except in Northern Minnesota and Northern Wisconsin. It is a fungus found in soil and water in this area. She is a Master Gardner and loves to dig in the soil, planting things, which is how she probably got it. It is compounded by the fact the only drug that works against it is highly toxic itself, and as it kills the fungus, the fungus releases more toxins that do more damage. Mortality is 90-95% in this infection. But in the last five days she is slowly improving against all odds. They have been able to reduce her oxygen rate to 60% fom 100% and her sedation drugs to half.
She will be on life support for quite a while, but my younger sister and I are allowing ourslves some hope. She is still so deep in the woods you can't see much light, but she refuses to give up. She is a fighter.
Again, thank you and God bless you all.

Please check with health care staff and try to get your sister on a good milk thistle supplement - at least 70% silymarin standardized extract. Silymarin has been shown to help the liver detoxify and the antifungals used to treat these infections are quite hard on the liver. Feel free to PM me for more info. An excellent well studied milk thistle extract is made by Metagenics. Metagenics products are generally ONLY available through health care practitioners such as chiropractors and some pharmacies.
