Got all my babies back from the Starkville PD yesterday. They had checked all the weapons for safety and then neatly organised everything in my range bag and case. Even with all those weapons, the pile of ammo, and the out of state plates they never had a question about why, just complimented me on having very nice gear and asked how I liked the MK25 and the PM400. Several are members of the same gun club and invited me to come to their tactical practices and match.
Great bunch and very gun friendly :twothumbs:

That's good news JT. Good to hear about the good contacts with LEO once and a while. I would take them up on the tactical practices, I am sure they don't make the offer lightly.

Hey JT I think you are or were in the process of moving, is this why the PD had your babies, or what process were you going through?

No moving, permanently anyway, just a little accident :S
Even though Mississippi has my kind of people they don't have my kind of climate, Iowa will always be home!
Got my rental car lined up for today so the wife headed home this morning. She picked out the new car while I was at work yesterday, got the paperwork and financing all taken care of so all I have to do is negotiate the check amount from the insurance company. The other driver admitted liability right away so it should be relatively a hassle free process.
The car didn't look as bad as I had suspected but they say it is totaled;

It's a good bit shorter now! I really liked that car :(

Fender benders are no fun at all. Even when it's someone else's fault you'll most likely end up with a new car payment which no one appreciates....Tough break JT but at least the car can be replaced....Put it behind you, there's a clear road ahead.... :twothumbs:

So glad to hear, often you do not.

My GF was a manager of a couple of stores in the mall. She closed stores at 9 pm and bagged the money to make the cash deposits. I had given her (loaned) a brand new S&W SS .357 mag (for the model). As she had to exit the car to stuff the money bag into the slot she always laid the gun on the center console if she had to make a run for it.

IIRC she got stopped for speeding just down the street for the bank. Cop saw the gun and took her in and took the gun. She did not get arrested, but the gun was visible on the console. She paid a speeding ticket but they KEPT THE GUN, we NEVER got it back. Talked to a lawyer. He said common with nice guns, they just keep them and you want it back, simple, go hire a lawyer and they will give it back just before you go to court. I asked about the cost to get my gun back....$250 if you have a clean record. But I only paid about $200 for the gun...he yep, its a racket!

When the accident happen I was a little concerned because I had the MK25 and the 1911 in thigh rigs sitting on the passenger floor. I offered my conceal carry permit right away but was told they didn't need it.
Just had the rental car delivered so I'll be at the range on Sunday.
