My brothers and I are considering setting up a family Gun Trust make it easier to own, store, and share Title II items.
Having family in multiple states and traveling for hunting we are planning on going to the extent of a complete firearms trust that covers every state.
Anyone else gone through the effort of establishing a trust for firearms ownership? Specifically Title II weapons?
Are you talking about setting this up in a legal trust? If so then a LOT of folks get involved in doing a trust and they have to be filed with the state.
I just would not do that. Obama is going to sign off on the UN Small Arms Treaty in Aug and it requires the registration of all guns by individual owners...there has NEVER been registration without confiscation. They already have partial records now. If you have ever bought a gun and had a background check you have registered your weapon at the federal level. And that is a FACT!
I have no experience with a trust, don't trust them!
From what I've read you will be agreeing to all kinds of rules, rules they can use to violate you. You will make yourself easy pickings when they decide to flip the switch.
I used to think that a deep hole was the best way to secure a weapon when they start the confiscation. With all the new tech brought online due to the IED threat I'm not so sure this will be foolproof anymore.
That leaves us with"from my cold dead fingers". Every good citizen needs to think about and prepare for what they will do when confiscation begins. Restriction has already been around since the fear mongering that convinced our ancestors to allow the 1934 NFA. At every turn they have used fear to take another chunk of the right our founding fathers saw as paramount to avoiding tyranny. I say enough already, from my cold dead fingers! :usa:
