Yes, but the LR-308 pins are slightly larger in diameter..... approx. 0.270".

Looks like it violates the KISS principle. Just another thing that could go wrong and I've never heard much about people wearing out their rifle with the regular tried and true pin.

You are right JT...what I have noticed is the 'ours is better' creep in the AR platform.

As a S-4 in a Inf Bn (1/9 Inf Manchus) I essentially owned all the arms rooms and all parts come thru my office. At Bn level its a real up close and personal job, you know all the folks involved. Almost 15 years in Inf outfits thru Bde level and weapons as in the AR platforms are historically rugged and reliable and this is under the most extreme of conditions. Making components proprietary that are not prone to failure is only fixing that which is not broke and not sure what that accomplishes?

While I love to see product improvement my roots are in the John Deere approach to the improvement process: In the early days if a component on your John Deere broke you sent it in them for a free replacement part. Then JD would examine it for why it broke and make product improvement and modifications as needed.

You have a link to their page that lists the spring loaded pins? I've looked and can't find them.
