The ad for the free optic fire starter gives me a "redirect error", says there may be a server issue on the chrome details page.
Looked like it might be a handy piece of kit........

Cool. I just checked it out. I have a different type of fire starter that I love! It's a flynt-type and steel that sparks and you strike the sparks into your tinder or waxy cotton balls. I love waxy cotton balls for starting fires. I'd be up for using an optical fire starter but good luck at night or in the rain.

But then again my fire building kit has about 8 different methods of starting a fire in it for all kinds of situations.

Its just a magnifying lens, usually the thin ones are a Fresnel lens...
