Yep, the first one is my question, seems others are not sure about it either. I thought it should be marked Armalite but wasn't sure if they did use an A earlier on.......
Its my GUESS, the marking of the letter 'A' is the company that made the bbl, its the profile.
A= x in, x gas tube length, x bbl outline, x threaded muzzle...etc
This how I would do it as a company to denote my offerings and what steps to be performed by each person involved in the bbl mauf process. You come to work on Monday and there sits a stack of A bbls, your job is threading flash hiders and you now know what thread count to use...
