Well, I took the time today to try and cover over the blemishes with some flat black paint. Looks like it worked for the most part; the small "crack" down by the mag release button has been filled. I'm still contemplating calling Armalite, but again, I'd hate to be "that guy" they joke about in the shop. The mentality of gun owners is strange; me included. I tend to buy nice things like watches, cars or electronics, and I probably wouldn't accept an expensive product with blemishes. Would you after all accept a Rolex or an Omega watch with a scratch? But when it comes to guns, the ex-army in me says to suck it up because its a tool, a device used for ending someone and not a fashion accessory.
I took some photos of my touch-up work. I probably should have taken photos of the blemishes before hand. Maybe if the paint comes off I'll take some additional pictures and email it to TR at Armalite.
Here's a shot of where the crack was. It's obviously filled in and covered up by my bad touch up job. You can still barely see the outline of the fissure though:

And here you can make out the ripples on the surface of the forward assist housing. The rest of the receiver is smooth as silk so I don't know why this particular area is so rough:

And again, a poor touch-up job on my end that's simply filling in the long 2.5" scratch under the anodizing.

Thought they might do a price reduction or send it back for repair, just a little resanding and reanodize a cheap fix to keep customers happy! Send me a PM and some pix as this is what business I am in, and may be able to help!
I haven't asked Armalite to do anything because honestly, I'd feel stupid asking them to fix what even I think are superficial, cosmetic issues. That's the practical realist in me talking. On the other hand, another part of me is saying, "I paid $2300 for this??" Even my cheap Olympic Arms looked better out of the box. In fact, none of the guns or gun components I've purchased in the last year have been anything other than perfect. I take that back actually; my Springfield M1A has been back to the factory twice - not for cosmetic issues but for mechanical deficiencies like the barrel being mis-timed.
Back to the SASS though, apart from the cosmetic blems, the rifle's quadrail handguard was also canted. I had to take that off and re-index the barrel nut. The barrel also doesn't sit dead center under the handguards, so some extra rear windage has to be applied to compensate when using back up irons.
Anyway I'll take some photos and upload it tomorrow.
