Purchased an AR10T new about 10 years ago and it has been in the safe since last year. It has a 24" stainless barrel and I mounted a 10X ZF84 scope. Last year I decided to try it out. I broke in the barrel and shot about 175 rounds of various ammo brands and always getting a flier in each group. Groups are well over an inch + with each type of ammo from Winchester 150grSP to Federal 168 match to Surplus. I was not happy so I tried another scope known to shoot well and got the same results. I put it in the safe for a year. Now this week I brought it out again with a MK4 20X scope and after another 50-75 rounds the rifle will not shoot a reasonable group. Every group has at least one flier that is sometimes over an inch out... Now while cleaning the rifle I noticed that on the front of the bolt only the front of two lugs are worn/scuffed. This means to me that the bolt is not squareing up with the barrel. Now what?
Have you checked;muzzle for dings,COL of the bullets to the "leed" of the riflings, gas system is not leaking, barrel nut is tight, good reciever fit between upper and lower, scopemounts and rings are tight? Is the trigger light enough to use on paper? Is the flyer on your first or last shot fired?(could be a magazine issue)
My AR-10T didn't group very well during the break in nor with commercial ammo. Once I started using handloads it cut the groups from 2.5 inches at 100yds to now it's shooting 0.5-0.75 inches consistently. See my writeup, "My First AR-10T BNF Range Session."

Since two scopes did the same thing It must be you. i was getting bad groups until I used the second pad of my index finger to pull straight back on the trigger and wham, It grouped wonderfully.

Raley,
I don't think I'd jump to the conclusion of not using 155 Palma SMK just because the manual says to use 168 SMK. I believe the 155 PSMK came out after the manual was published. Maybe now the manual would recommend using both 168 and 155 SMKs since the 155s shoot so well. IMO.
