Although I still have issues with the fit of the butt plate I can say after firing this weapon that it will be my rifle till I'm gone! The first 5 rounds were shot at 50 yards and made one ragged 3/4 inch hole. When I moved to 100 yards it stayed inside 1 1/2 moa as guarnteed. I only shot 60 rounds but experienced no failures and no flyers, it just hit where I pointed it! Haveing not touched an AR style rifle in 24 years and only shooting about 100 rounds from a bolt rifle in that same time this weapon made me look like I knew what I was doing! I'm anxious to get a few hundred rounds down range and find out how tight this rifle can really shoot when I hit my groove! I had some serious doubts when the buttplate fit issue wasn't resolved but it is obvious they spent the time on the right parts, I don't regret buying this rifle one bit!
I found cleaning much easier than I remember the M-16 being. The fit of the action parts was flawless, obviously a finely tuned machine. If this is an entry level rifle for Armalite I can't imagine how they could fit things any better, the SASS must really be something!
I've got 500 rounds of various ammo comming so I'll keep everyone updated on the break-in and any function issues with ammo, so far I'm happy! I think I feel a little addiction growing!!!!!
Nice! I feel the same about mine, and it would be the only thing I'd shoot if .308 weren't so pricey. The first 308 stoner style rifle I fired was a SASS, and it's what made me decide "Oooh I gotta have one of these!". I finally settled on an AR10TCB, at 200 yards (max length shooting range I've been to) it's a laser. Hope you can get the butt plate resolved!

Excellent news! I think you'll find with the right optic and ammo, Armalite's rifles will do much better than their advertised accuracy. Like any AR, the key is lube. Keep it well lubed and you shouldn't have any problems at all.
