I am looking for an AR10, A2 front site base, the regular old right triangle base. I looking on the ArmaLite site and couldn't find it, so I called. As luck would have it I got right through to Tim. I told him what I was after and he tried to convince me that there is no difference between an AR-15 front site base and an AR10 front site base. I said that can't be. The AR10 upper receiver puts the rear site .1 inches higher. He seemed very confused about it all and said I could just screw the pin out further. I thought there were two different front site bases.
Anybody out there with the A2 version could you measure from where the bore axis is to the top of the site and tell me what that distance is. I'd say pick you a point on the site base to measure to but get it from the bore axis... if that's too inaccurate measure from the top of the barrel to the flat where the pin screws into, but let me know what diameter barrel you have.
I have put the word out...lets see what comes back...but if they say yes..maybe the sight post is taller on the AR-10 than the 15....also why are you going to a A2 Sight...I thought you had a railed gas block...
If so...I might have something for you that you will like...

Got it figured out. There are two A2 front site base types. Both are about the same overall height with one, the "f" marked ones having a shelf that the post screws into about .040" higher than the standard.
ArmaLite uses only "standard" on all it's A2 rifles 15s' and 10s'.
