This is the first of my new AR 10 lowers. It took a little longer to get it done that I thought. The matching uppers are in the mill now and should be done this week. Everything measures out good on the lower so we will do the range testing as son as the uppers are done.
The uppers will be made in smooth side, shell deflector only and shell deflector with dust cover.
Edit- Picture until the finished version is completed.
looking good... can't wait to see some uppers. Have you figured out a cost for these yet?
No cost estimate yet. Since we plan on selling the upper and lower as a matched set we will be able to offer a good price on the combo. The metal costs about $10 each more than 6061 aluminum. These will all be 7075, upper and lower. Since manufacturing around the country is so slow right now we can get lots of 7075 aluminum. It is the best for guns and can be hard to get when the .gov is having a lot of stuff made for the military.
I should have pictures of the new uppers this week if all goes well. Prototyping a design from scratch is always full of unknowns.
