IF, this is a big IF... I decide to build my own Semi Auto AR platform .308 rifle, which parts are compatible to each other?
I know for example a DPMS LR-308 upper cannot be fitted on a Armalite AR-10 lower and my knowledge pretty much ends there.
What about basic items like a DPMS barrel on a Armalite receiver or a AR15 trigger group on a .308?
Just how compatible these plataforms are amongst themselves and between each other? If so what is a good source for a "laundry list" to pick the best of the best?
Just about everything you want to know about the AR-10 platform, including what parts are common with the AR15, what receivers are similar, identical or completely incompatible, etc., etc. etc.

To many diferances to go through, but it's better to stay with one or the other when doing a build.
I have heard that a DPMS barrel will fit an ArmaLite upper, but the ArmaLite bolt will not fit the DPMS barrel extention properly creating problems and vice versa.
I came to know about tips or advice from experience people or supplier on making my own rifle, I have visited numerous websites that deals in AR kits, including 85% lower receiver and kits that comes with rest of the rifle.

My limited experience says stick with Armalite. You'll find very few if any negative reviews of their products and I can tell you first hand the customer service department doesn't give up till they hyave a satisfied customer. If you enjoy working on the guns then maybe not, but if you just like to shoot then they are the shit! :woohoo:
