Anyone ever heard of a folding buttstock bipod or monopod? No, I didn't mean the forend, I really did mean the buttstock.

The only one I know of is the one made to fit Magpul's PRS Stock. I like the idea and its instillation, but not the price.

RandR,

Thanks. Exactly what I was looking for, but as you said quite pricy - $255 stock + $95 monopod + shipping, etc.

If you can past their anti-gun stance, you can get Magpuls 308 PRS stock on Ebay for $197 shipped or Gunbroker for about $212 shipped.

Here's one that attaches to your stock. It is called the Accushot monopod.

blfuller,

Thanks. That Accu-Shot looks like it fits my needs better because it's cheaper than the other approach, ha, ha.

Received my Accushot monopod. Had to wait an entire 3 days to receive it and 5 minutes to install it. Great service.

I ordered the BT-05 which comes with the quick release extension. I like it. Wish the top jam nut was also a quick release. It's sort of a slight pain having to unscrew the 2 jam nuts quite a ways when folding the monopod up and down, and then retightening the top nut so it doesn't rattle when it's folded against the stock. Then to fold it back down, you have to loosen the top jam nut quite a ways again, rotate the pod down, and retighten the top jam nut again with the pod down.

I gotta say that I love my accushot also! 7 years ago I was one of the first to have an accu-shot and the only thing I wish was that I Had gotten ta taller one. The bipod I have does not match up well with the mono-pod. I recommend the taller of the monopods because how often are you shooting uphill? I find my self shooting downhill far more often than uphill. There are many groundhogs (woodchucks) that wish accushot did not make such an awesome product.

Agree. I was very unsure about which length to use, but their site has an explanation of how to size it correctly for your needs. They said to extend your bi-pod like you normally shoot, place the rifle on a table, then raise the buttstock until the barrel is level. Measure the distance from the buttstock to the table and that's the length you need. I set my Harris bi-pod to it's 1st shortest notch/length (not fully collapsed), then used a sand bag with a box of shells under it to get the barrel level and then measured. I figured if I need to shoot up hill, I can extend the bi-pod legs and, if I need to shoot down hill, I can shorten the bi-pod that one notch. Pretty simple.

It worked well for me and the length I ordered worked perfectly. It's a great addition to a fine rifle.
