whats a cure for a scratched barrel or it might be carbon build I dont think so though? and doubling feeding or failure to eject it might be magazines or might be ejector thing that pops out shells im thinking of buying entir new bolt assmebly and barrel,,, is there any kind of barrel treatment I could get like somehting that I can leave in the barrel for a bit and hopefully its just some carbon but if its a scratch im screwed right? someone get back to me please thank you
If the rim of the case has a chunk pulled off or deep cuts from the extractor it is trying to pull out the case while it is still under to much pressure, this is usually caused by someone drilling out the gas hole in the barrel to "Improve" ejection. If you have a factory installedbarrel and have not done this it can likely be ruled out.
If you are using reloads, stop and try again with name brand new ammo.
Make sure you are using .308 ammo if your barrel is chambered for .308 and use 7.62 NATO if your barrel is chambered for it.
Examine your cases. See if they are have scratches or cracks in them.
Is your gas tube clean?
Load one round, see if it will fire and lock back on the empty mag. If it wont do this dont try and load more rounds in the mag, you will just jam it up worse and mess up your ammo.
Can you eject a round that has not been fired by pulling back on the charging handle? If not it wont work correctly when you try and shoot it. THis is most often caused by bad ammo. SOmetimes a bad chamber but I have only seen this once in 500 or so barrels over the last two years.
If the barrel finisher got phosphate in the chamber it can cause this also (I had two of these do this) and you will need to VERY lightly ream the chamber to clean it out.
e mail me specifics on the above and I will be able to get it going for you.
Just my .02. I would have to say...clean the hell out of it first...
take it all apart...as a normal cleaning..
clean the
chamber
bolt carrier
bolt
barrel
and make sure that it is clean around the lugs...
take the bolt apart...check the extractor spring and the plug inside the spring and the rubber bushing...
you never stated what type of rifle it is...this also would help in pointing you in the right direction...for the most part they operate the same..
you also might what to invest in a GTB..(gas tube brush) for midwest industries...they work real good...
A few other things to check as well...has your gas block came loose..or have you taken it off at one point...you might not have it on right if you did...
as for scratches on the shells...my AR-10 has them..one from the deflector and the others are from the lugs as it is being pulled from the chamber...as a friend of mine said...those are no big deal...
hope this adds to the fix and not to the confusion....LOL

From what it sounds is that it needs a through cleaning.
Give it a good cleaning and I mean real good. Lube it to the point that it is almost dripping wet and shoot.
Then let us know if it's still doing the same thing.
Need more information.......and take one problem at a time.......
Where is the 'scratch'? Is it in the barrel or the chamber?
The double feeding could be a magazine problem. Does it do it with every magazine? Mark your magazines and write down the magazine number when a failure happens?
Failure to eject could be a number of issues. Have you tried different ammo? What type of ammo are you shooting now? Surplus?
How are you cleaning your barrel? What brand and type of cleaner are you using? Sounds like it might just be copper build up. You can use a good copper solvent to remove. What kind of groups are you shooting? What is the ammo type, grain of bullet, etc?
