In the manual that comes with a new AR10-A4B,it describes how to break in a Match Barrel. My question is does the barrel on my AR10-A4B need to go through this same process? (It is not a match type barrel.) If so wouldn't the original factory test fire have negated this process? I don't know how many rounds are test fired through each rifle. Any thoughts?
Hey dude, good to see you...
As for how many test rounds...I think it is 10 but not sure.
As for the Manual..mine is not a "match" barrel either...but I followed it anyway..as far as what and how it says to do it...mine turned out ok for me anyway...Maybe Uncle A can shed some light on this other wise contact Tim at ArmaLite...he would be able to tell you...that subject came up a while back..oh man..did it start some heat...I would have to say check with the "office" and do what you feel is right...that is the best answer I can give..
Oh I will say though....break it in with "GOOD AMMO" it will help.
I used Hornady TAP, A max and Match 168gr for the first 300 rounds then plinked with the Ultra max...stay away from Winchester Super X, in my opinion...to dirty...
I wish I could be of more help.
Hope it helps....
