The AR-10 carrier is heavier than an M-15 carrier, so that test wont work.

The best way to check the AR-10 is to hold the carrier with the bolt faceing up. Extend the bolt to see if the bolt will stay extended. If it stays up on it's own, the gas ring has enough tension in it and "I" would not concider it bad.

If not, later today I will take mine out and get you a measurement for them.

Sorry it took so long, but I didn't forget about ya...

The AR-10 gas rings measured out to be .657 and I know acceptable variances is from .656 to .659. So as long as your are between those right there they should be good.
