Short of Noveske I have not seen any ArmaLite pattern barrels for sale, some say AR-10 in the title but when you read the description they are DPMS pattern.
If I understand correctly you could use a DPMS pattern barrel in an Armalite if you use a DPMS bolt with it?This proprietary stuff gets murky for me sometimes??????

Not really sure,.......I had a DPMS that was a piece of shiOt. It was my first .308 pattern AR. DPMS could never get it to feed correctly. They eventually replaced the entire rifle, I sold it and have never given them another dime.

The Noveske barrels are the only ones I have tried. So I really can not answer that question.

I think this 4 rounder will work in your A model;
www.midwayusa.com/product/833990/dpms-ma...und-steel-parkerized

Here is a 5 rounder, never heard of this place before though;
www.leesmags.com/product-p/14590586.htm

This link has two that may work, the ArmaLite Gen II will not work in your rifle;
gunmagwarehouse.com/all-magazines/rifle-...ty=139&platforms=284

Lancer has 5 rounders, they are about as good a mag as money can buy for these 308AR's but as you can see it takes a chunk of money to try one;
store.lancer-systems.com/product/l7awm-5...aque-black/magazines

I've never heard of a Lancer not working in a rifle that a P-mag worked in but.....
The issue I see is Armalite says in the tech note they tested the A model with P-mags, others MAY work.......P-mags do not come in any size under 10 that I'm aware of.

There are 5 round limiters for the ten round PMags.........this would be my ONLY choice.

www.magpul.com/products/minus-5-round-li...r-pmag-gen-m3-762x51

I am sure they are available at other places other than MagPul directly.

**** Looks like; MidWay USA, Brownells, Amazon, Cheaper than Dirt, Academy.Com, 44Mag.com......others come up with a google search for "minus 5 round limiter 7.62 mag"

For barrel selection;

Rainier Arms would be my pick. Or you could contact ADCO and have your barrel cut, rethreaded and crowned. I believe it would run about $175.

Two things: 1. A Super SASS Armalite barrel is a work of art. It is triple lapped stainless steel, and ceramic coated to provide a low visibility cover for a highly accurate barrel. In going to a 18 inch barrel, you are giving up one of the things that made a Super SASS so expensive in the first place. You get a two inch shorter gun, that you have spent a heck of a lot more money for than you needed to, and have reduced the maximum overall long distance performance by a little bit. You will have a very pricey extra barrel you will have to get rid of, probably for a bit of a loss. Why not sell it and pick up one of the new Armalite models that come in an 18 inch barrel if you want an 18 inch barrel? To mess with a SuperSASS barrel to me doesn't make much sense.
As far as magazines, Brownells or Midway usually have 5 round Magazines to fit the "A" model. For B model five rounders, try CDNN, CTD, or Galati's.

Can not vouch for the validity of all the info, but the link below has a great deal of the same info that I have heard before about compatibility issues. The parts will work together, but often there are MAJOR issues with headspace.
