Does anyone have a source for an AR-10 extractor plunger, that little orange plug inside the extractor spring? I looked on Armalite's site but was turned off by the over $17 shipping charge for UPS ground. They are only $1.10 for a set with the plunger, spring, and O-ring but they want you to buy 5, no problem I thought. Put it in my cart and went to check out, almost fell over when I saw the shipping charge.
I've got a spare but want to replace it, just don't want to volunteer for rape!

The only shipper we use currently is UPS. The program from them is based on a 1 lb minimum from our zip code to yours plus we add a $3.00 handling and packaging fee. The rest of the charges go direct to UPS. Until upper management decides when to add USPS as an option, UPS is the only carrier we use for now. Upper management has been made aware of the situation and is looking at adding USPS as an option in the not too distant future.

Would you be willing to share the specs for the Buna Plug?

The thickness is .063 and ID is .125. That's all I have to give you.

Anyone replace their spring set yet?
I just finished changing mine, what a pain, literally my fingertips are still stinging! :pinch:
Getting the ring onto the outside of the spring was the challenge. I ended up putting the spring on a slightly smaller punch that was secured in a vise. This allowed me to use both hands to force the ring onto the spring. I also used some slip2000 to help it slide on and to help the orange plug slide into the center after the ring was in place. I'm amazed at hoe much stiffer my extractor is now, can't see any movement no matter how hard I press with my fingers. Had a hard time getting the pin back in! I'll get out to test fire for function soon.

Here's what we (I) do here to install the o-ring onto the spring. I insert the spring into the extractor, hold the o-ring with one thumb over the edge of the spring and with the other thumb, stretch the o-ring over the other side of the spring. The spring being in the extractor gives you a more solid base to work from. I hope I explained that well enough.

Armalite TR: how about a special coupon deal for AR10T members on an AR10 spare parts kit?

I'll ask but I don't think it will fly. Can't hurt to ask though right?
