Just noticed Armalite has a new AR-10 listed on the website;

Muzzle Device: Flash Suppressor
Front Sight Base: Picatinny rail gas block; Top of gas block is .398 (+/-) lower than top of receiver
Upper Receiver: Forged flat-top with Picatinny rail, 7075-T6 Aluminum
Lower Receiver: 7075-T6 Aluminum (forged)

The melonite treatment on the barrel, single stage trigger, and the price are the big changes I noticed.
Anyone know offhand how the melonite compares to hard chrome for the bore?

I do not understand Armalite's marketing plan at this time. I think they are throwing things together on certain models to be price competitive with DPMS, etc., while still charging higher prices for similar firearms in their own model line. I think they will end up cannibalizing the sales of other models in their line, instead of getting business away from the competition. Armalite needs to decide what they are and sell to their strengths.

I can see what you mean, lower prices usually mean lower quality, usually.....
I think it is interesting they did not use "AR-10" on the new cheaper products. Maybe they think that will separate the lines and keep the reputation and sales they have intact.
It will be interesting to see the reviews on this new line of rifles.
Hope they keep up the top notch customer service :pray:

Maybe they want to sell it in California? Since Armalite AR 10 is a registered assault weapon name they can't sell any in California that are marked as such. Oh yeah- needs a bullet button and not all of the evil evil gun features....
