Failure to feed Chamber is empty with rounds in mag. bolt does not lock open and trigger clicks. Hornady 150gr T.A.P.
Ammo is hard to come by so I grabbed a couple boxes to try. I'm wondering if because these are touted as law enforcement ammo they are a weaker load as not to over penetrate? Started off with other ammo and function was fine. Didn't have a chance to switch back. Any thoughts?
Went thru 20 or so rounds of soft point. I know it's not the favorite of this rifle but I had some left an wanted to give it a try. No prob with that ammo. Checked chamber for fouling and it was clear. Oh, it's an armalite ar10 I forget the exact model but 20" barrel standard stock. (not m4 stock)
If other types of ammo worked - and continue to work - well in your rifle, I'd wager it was the ammo vice the rifle. If the problem occured with all types of ammo, then I'd start looking for a problem with the gas system.
Also, check your feed ramps for lead build up since you were firing soft points.
It will fail with any ammo. Ran ok for a while, then started acting up again. thanks for the tips on where to start looking. I will get into it this weekend.
