Im getting ready to shoot this rifle for accuracy. First I measured the free bore to to around .250 to .300, this was a hart breaker. My bolt actactions shoot best with a the bullet .000/.015 off the lands. My AR10 doesn't allow that to happen.
Whats the best approach to built a sub-moa AR10.
Next is the trigger. I've dissasembled the trigger and polished and lapped all rubbing surfaces. What is next to improve trigger performance. I see a few on the web, but which works best for a sub-moa long ranger AR10.
Timminy trigger drop in group is highly touted.
Funny, I went from A4 to A2.
It is my understanding that a free float barrel is where its at for accuracy.

I like the Armalite two stage ,but the single stage Timney is very nice also .
And another thing , free floated barrels really do shoot better groups . Try resting your barrel on something the next time you are at the bench and watch your POI and group size change . True , there are some barrels that benefit from a pressure point , but I think on tens and fifteens they are better off floated .
I have two AR-10A2's I've converted into the A4 configuration, one has an Eagle Arms 24" barrel with the aluminum free float tube and the other is the old 20" chrome lined GI barrel (medium weight) with the Armalite fiberglass free float tube, I just completed the Armalite 2-stage trigger installation on both.
I fired the 20" rifle with a 4x14x56 Springfield Armory scope and it held 3/4" groups at 100 yards, I have yet to fire the 24" rifle since changing triggers.
I just bought this AR-10T Navy (16" barrel) ans it is shooting 1/2" groups with a 6x Springfield Armory scope with Federal Gold Medal Match ammo.
