I saw that at NRA Indy, thought I had posted on here about it, but must have not done so. Its hard to into a new cart design and win big. I personally like the 6.5mm format, but we will see if folks beat a path to the door.
I could see this round chambered in a bolt gun. The ballistics on this round must be incredible! I'll have to look into the ballistic coefficient at 3400fps as it must be close to 0.600...
Without going to the house and getting out a reloading data book, I would like to know what cartridge this round derived from.
How would it compare to the .308 ? ? ? :nicethread:
Seems like a nice cartridge according to its specs.

Seems like a nice cartridge according to its specs.
The 26 Nosler appears to be a bit larger then the 308 Winchester and holds about twice the powder. The shoulder angle is 35 degrees vs the 20 degree on the 308 Winchester and the head diameter is .534 vs .473 and the 26 Nosler measures about 1/2" longer as well.
That cartridge is getting close to the shoulder angle of the Ackley Improved cartridges at 40*.
A nice move on the specs.
I have put some thought of doing the Ackley shoulder angle on My Remington 700 30-06.
The differences I read is about an 8% gain in velocity.
The lowest number, in the article is a 6% increase in velocity, below that and it does`nt appear to be enough of an improvement to do all the work and machining.
BUT, this topic is`nt about Ackley improved chamber/cartridges, so, If I decide to pursue the mod. I will start another topic on the matter, unless, someone else in the forum wants to get some information before I get toooit. :rotfl:
