I can't wait to be able to play with the 300 BLK next year. My brother has one and has a Wilson Combat 7.62 suppressor on order.

I hope to use it for varmints at night where day time hunting and muzzle report would be highly frowned upon.

Awhile ago, over on the hkpro forum, I heard that one of their resident experts had been approached by AAC with the intention of making a 93 (5.56 rifle) or 33 (5.56 carbine) or possibly even a 53 (5.56 sub-gun) work in .300 BLK. I have no idea what became of it, but I can try to find out.

While we're on the subject, I found an optic that I'd seriously consider for a .300 BLK:

That BDC is a big gamble though. Anyway, thought y'all would like to see that.

Oh, by the way, it's Dakota Tactical.

They've filled 30 pre-order slots for HK53-type short (9") barreled rifles. Apparently they've managed to work it so that nothing needs to be changed when going from supersonic to subsonic ammo, suppressed or not. Supposedly they're very reliable as well. AAC did some independent testing. Last update from DT was on 8/21/2013. Last estimate on price was around about $2500 - depending on availability of existing/used/reusable parts. Without those, the estimate goes up over $3000.

Looks like hkparts.net is selling barrels to interested parties. The locking pieces (the only other non-standard part you would need for building one) are listed, but not in stock right now. They will notify people so inclined, when they're in stock again.

A couple of videos for your viewing pleasure...
