(chuckle, chuckle)I was looking at their web-site (RRA) and I also went to Smith's. I have to go back to the gun shop and see what models they where, I was only there for a few minutes, the wife was waiting (chuckle) you know.
From what I remember they both where the M4 type.
For the use, well as I said, don't really want to let the 10 loose in the house unless it was the only thing I had at the time (chuckle). Precision is necessary but not that critical, more for plinking and CQB and for the wife to shoot.....

Just to interject, What about Colt? Are they worth the money? Ive been looking at a New Colt Match Target M4. Opinions? Looking to shoot accurate benchrest with a scope but also be a good with an EOTECH sight and home defense.
Colts are good and some would argue that they are the best, because they have the most "mil-spec" components in them. I think LMT is second, followed by S&W and Noveske.
Anyway, personally I think your paying for the Pony, more than you are for the rifle. But it would be a good purchase if you did get it.
Amen Brother Edge--(personally I think your paying for the Pony, more than you are for the rifle.)
NOT TO DROP THE HAMMER ON YOU or be an a
e but,
actually, colt is one option I do have in my venture, I choose not to consider it.
COLT, you think owning an AR-10 is expensive, colt-you have to buy alot of parts just for the colt, they don't inter change with much. For what this some what equipped colt costs--1800.00, I would add the extra money and buy a KAC SR-15 if that was my option, to order it, I still rather have a M-15. Colts are good guns, but you are paying for the name more than anything else and their claim to be the only true AR-15 is, well I can't find the words to say it on here. After they bought the rights from ArmaLite, their heads got way to big!!! There are HIGH quality rifles out there for alot less or for that kind of money you can get one fully equipped and have the option of adding or interchanging on it.
My opinion, for what it is worth---Colt, over priced and over rated!!!
I would rather buy a DPMS.

Here's a link to the chart I was talking about. Take it with a grain of salt, and do your own research, because there are a lot of different models from the various companies out there and this chart just takes 1 model from each company. You'll notice that Colt is the most "mil-spec" out of them all. Is that important? maybe, maybe not.
You are correct that colt does make one of the most mil-spec rifle out there. Personally, I would love to put one up against an SR-15 or the M-15 A4T (hahahaha) sorry couldn't help it.
They just seem to have an attitude and maybe it's deserved. Oh well, it's black, goes boom boom, and was for the most part designed by E. Stoner. So "to each his own", Right.

Well, I live in Mass...I know, lame. So I have to take what I can find, and the colt mt6400c has the flash suppressor that is rare in MA, and I think ill find a way to get the fixed stock off and replace with a magpul. I know its more money, but I also want to add a new handgaurd and sights etc. Match trigger definitely.
Sorry about the attitude, they are good guns and you are right about take what you can find. But like I said, you will have to find parts for the Colt only.
As for the fore arms MI makes one or two that are for the Colt....MCTAR-17C
Carbine Length Two Piece Forearm, for use with Colt's Mfg guns $155.00.
As for the other hand guards (fore arm) you will have to contact MI, if you go with some other company, make sure you find out if it will fit on a Colt.
Sights- MI again makes affordable sights but any bolt on sights SHOULD work. The trigger, well ask around, cause I'm not really sure who makes one for a Colt.
Good Luck..........
