Good Afternoon AR-10 lovers,

Over the last couple of years, after getting out of the military, I have retained my ever growing hobby of buying, shooting, and learning about everything firearm related.

I started reloading, started to buy and sell guns online, and even started a YouTube channel dedicated to how-to videos, reloading videos, firearm reviews, etc.

I'm now thinking of applying for an FFL. It would be a home based FFL as I do not have the capital for a store front, nor do I want a store front. I work full time for the Fed. so, this would be a part time en devour. I have my reservations though and that's why I'm reaching out to this community. I see the pro's and Con's of being home based and frankly the con's are not something that concern me. Essentially, I would love to hear your opinions, concerns, and even questions. I know there are people out there who have much more experience in these matters than I. I want to hear from you to see if this is truly something I want to pursue. It's not a very expensive en devour but, I want to make sure it's a safe one.

My understanding from friends who have their FFL's is that the main thing is that the ATF wants to see that you are indeed selling firearms and not just using it to get yourself a discount. And keep your paperwork immaculate!

My airline pilot buddy just got his FFL and that is exactly what he said, when I asked as I thought I might get one.

They will want to see that you comply with local city/county for business license and tax laws.

I'm looking into zoning and the cities regulations as of now. I don't think I will have much of an issue due to there being two home daycare centers within a block or two of me. Living in a smaller town has its benefits to. They want economic development. However, this will primarily be an online based business with a bit of stock in home.

IF you want it work then you will need to form a corp (I recommend a LLC) and file taxes on income, losses etc. Then you are legitimate, otherwise you are not serious and just using it for your personal buying.
