Why so pricey? I thought the M-14 semi auto only, was basically a M-1A such as Springfield Armory build for 2ish?

For me it got down to a Springfield Armory M1A or an AR10. I read about every forum known to man on the two. General consensus was the M1A could be made as accurate as an AR10, but only with a lot of aftermarket work. Best iron sights of any 308, but a bear to consistently keep a good scope zero. Decided to go with the AR platform and stick with it. Quite a few guys on this forum have them. Hope they chip in.

I have a Springfield M21. I was torn between getting an AR platform rifle or the M1A. I couldn't decide so I decided to get both. I bought the AR10 first and love it. Once finances got back in order (a while later) I got the M21. The AR10 is maybe a bit more accurate but I am still working with the M21 and have had some great days shooting long range with it. The AR10 is easier to reload for but the M21 has that steel on steel action slap that gets me going. It is kind of like being in love with two different woman, but in this case they aren't jealous of each other.

Notice you have the M14E2 stock, how do you like it? That was developed to reduce the muzzle rise from full auto use.

It's Ok, Nice for shooting from a bench, but the bipod and stock make it heavy. would hate to carry it all day long.lol
