TIP: Had a pipe in slab burst and began leaking up thru it into kitchen. Ins co sends out plumber who says no problem can by pass by running thru attic. Total loss $2014 bucks, you pay the first $1000.

WHOA, wait a min, I call ins co and ask for a claims adjuster to come out send out and talk about this. Yesterday the CA came out. Oppps, wow the ceramic tile is completely runied (ceramic tile was put on TOP of vinyl tile, leak lifted the tile, has to all be replaced.) Claim went from $2k to $7,500!

Bottom line, make sure they send out a claims adjuster and do not depend upon some plumber to write the report.

Looks like I'll have to deal with an adjuster on a car accident :banghead: A person doesn't think much about this stuff until your already knee deep in it. I started researching some and only got more confused  Which state regulations apply, the state the accident happens in or the state the coverage is bought in? Mississippi uses a total loss formula,Cost of Repair + Salvage Value > Actual Cash Value, where Iowa says it is totaled if the repairs are over 50% of the cars value before the crash.... who decides that value?
The car is trashed bad but will they total it or repair it? I had a new car, do I have to take the repaired car? The more I read the more confused I get :S
All because some yahoo couldn't see, or was it my fault somehow????? :banghead:
:censored: :banghead: :censored: insurance, can't live without it, can't understand it without a :censored: lawyer!
