Okay, here is today screen shot. High to be about 80.
For the rear end of the sons pickup, had to build a socket to adjust the pre~load on the side bearings, a 7/8ths inch bolt with a 1-7/16s head, a 38mm bolt head would have fit perfectly but We did`nt have a bolt that size. Ground down the head to fit into the adjusters, used a washer and jam nut for a backing so the wrench would`nt go in too deep and a 36" length of pipe and welded a cracked socket to the other end to give the drive.
Alsdo had to cut a bolt to fit between the axles to compress the clutches to get the spider gears installed, used a nut on that for a spreader. No pic of that so You`ll have to use Your imagination. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Well ow, I guess You`ll really have to use Your imagination, the site would not load the screen shot nor the image of the new socket wrench. I`ll try again a bit later.
I need to get on the installation of backing plates and the rst of the differential, bleeding brakes etc.
Another beautiful day here. Had some more lightening, thunder and rain last night. The storm seemed to be centered more to the south of us, I hope they didn`t get anything too bad.
And, I`ll try to post in the pics. of the socket and the spreader bolt. Maybe this time it`ll work.
