This is a lightweight one, it was designed to hold 3 boxes that fit into the 48x24 space. The one I built for the guy with a tractor what wanted to haul gear in it around his place weighed 77 lbs, but it was bigger. I built the frame out .120 wall. He carries some heavy loads in it upwards of 300 lbs and owned a tractor myself I know it has zero suspension so every thing you cross is a bone rattler. I had to really brace that thing for his travels over his rough land.
Its Canadian Army issue, I bought from a surplus outfit in Canada. It was brand new, never issued. It is made in the US and the Canadians took the original Jeep ¼ ton trailer design from 1941 and made some improvements, but did not change the size. Its called ¼ Ton Jeep trailer, but is built to 3500 lb specs, axles and all. I have seen them loaded with munitions that I am sure weighed in at that point.
I pulled it behind my offroad Jeep
