Apparently these are available in Canada from Norinco. A little disturbing that rifles as American as these are made in China, but look at the 1911 Colt. Don't think I could bring myself to buy one though.

Actually, Nork M14s are valued for the quality of their receivers. Many M14 afficianados use them as the basis for their custom builds.

At $599 Canadian for a complete M1A that is a good deal.

Many of you will be too young to remember the days of post WWII when 'made in Japan' was a joke. Stuff made out of beer cans, not kidding I saw it myself. The quality of goods coming out of Japan was at best laughable, at worst it arrived broke.

But then the Japs like most Asians 'got it' and today some of the best products in the world are now made there. Same holds true for S Korea and now China is coming on board. Asians are not the most creative folks in the world. But give them a product from a hammer to a tractor and in a few years it will be the best.

Sure Harbor Fright sell a lot of junk from China, but I know the Asian well. You give them the specs to work to and the quality control standards to adhere to and you will receive a world class product.
