Well maybe a little more does need to be said. The AR15 outsells the AR10 by a significant margin. In fact I would guess that 90% of the AR10 owners on this board also own an AR15. From a design point of view they are almost identical so it's really just a matter of SIZE.
So maybe all we AR10 owners need to say is size matters.
Application, application, application! Clearing a building I'll take my PM400(short barrel AR-15) every time, keeping vermin from pilfering my brother-in-laws cattle and I'm grabbing my AR-10.
If I need light and fast, AR-15. If I need barrier penetration or long distance reach then my AR-10 will get the call.
If I can only choose one then my AR-10 gets the call :usa:
If I could choose two..... I would have two AR10's...... AR 15s are chick guns.... that's what I tell my friends with them.... If I had to do close range work I would use 45 auto's mabe a shotgun..... Two 45 ACP's would be cool.......

Well JT you have said it best...
Why back when I worked as a mechanic and there was an old mechanic in the next bay over. If the guy had one tool, he had 10,000 and that ole man used to tell me: 'son, the tool has to fit the job, don't force the job to fit the tool'. Having grown up on a ranch a long ways from the city limits I was always working on a tractor or ranch truck or just one of our cars. That meant a lot of using the wrong tool for the job as we did not have a lot of tools. As always it took longer and sometimes bunged up the job at hand forcing us to drive into town and get the right tool.
AR 15 vs AR10 or even the age old argument of AR 15 vs AK 47. You can try to make all the comparo's you want but in fact its no more valid than comparing a ½ in wrench to a ¾ in wrench, or a ratchet wrench to a open end.
Different tools, different jobs...me, I will take both AR's

Clearing a building I would take a Benelli 12 ga or a 7.62 x 51 SBR. If a bad guy is on the other side of a wall, even sheet rock, a 5.56 won't do much. If I had to hike 20 miles, then get in a firefight,, the 5.56 because I can carry more ammo. 3 gun comp, 5.56 terminalballistics arent important. Every thing else, AR10
