900m open field that runs N/S, with about a 50' rise on the north end. Challenge is that each side of the field, to the E/W sides, is heavily wooded and sloped down from the field.(cooley/valley region of west central WI) So, what you get is the adiabatic flows of warming and cooling air, + the regular winds coming over the hilltop from the North.
Never used any of the electronic gizmos, as with my off-road bikes, I don't like to fix electronics in the middle of bum-cluck swamplands where Sisco thrives. Not that I wouldn't try them today, especially some of the phone apps I've heard about, but there is no replacement for extended durations of trigger time w/o cruthches.
I never kept a dope book, just kind of learned the math in my head + the indicated windages, and had fun. Drove my Dad crazy and he actually put a stop to it. Thank God for the Lodi range.
How did you know I have been out in the swamplands prepping my deer stand?
