Kinda of a long read but worth your time. I concur with a lot of it, I think bbl breaking is often over done and in fact in many cases done to the point it actually costs you 1000's of rds of bbl life.

I`m thinking I need to do a real thorough cleaning on my barrel, so that I know it is 100% as clean as possible, then, go out and bench down real tight and see just exactly what My AR10 can do.

I think you nailed it right there marty...let us know...
Clean it when it's fouled or going to be sitting for a long time. I can't say I've seen any measurable difference between not doing it and following the ritual.
