Today is a day we are never suppose to forget, and I never will.
I will never forget the day 11 hijackers took over 4 planes and killed almost 3,000 people.
I will never forget the day we declared war on terrorism.
I will never forget the day we declared Al-Qaeda as our enemy.
I will never forget the day the Dept. of Homeland Security declared Veterans, Republicans, Far Right groups, and those who believe in the Constitution could be potential terrorist.
I will never forget the day at Fort Hood where we lost 14 people and another 32 wounded by a Al-Qaeda affiliated US ARMY MAJOR who says he did this in the name of Islam, yet our leaders called it work place violence. :banghead:
I will never forget the day our country aided Al-Qaeda in Libya, while leaving our men and women there to be raped and slaughtered by that same group.
I will never forget all those who died and were hurt in Boston at the hands of Islamist Extremist that our government was warned about, but did NOTHING.
I will never forget the day our President again wants to take us to war in Syria to help the rebels(Al-Qaeda). :banghead:
I will never forget today as I post this my Government will flag me in a data base as a potential terrorist.
Oh I will never forget those days and who the true enemy of our country really is.
 Lord be with the fallen and their families, and may God bless us all in these troubling times.
P.S. This has to always be the saddest day of the year for me. The one day of the year I always shed a tear. Today I drove through my little town and saw not one flag waving. My heart hurts for the fallen and for those who have forgotten.

I'll never forget how my high school friend Kat, who was called out of our chemistry class on that typical morning right after we showed up late to class with overpriced coffee with green straws. I'll never forget how she walked to my parents house later that night, crying and told me she was an orphan now and swore her revenge on whoever did it, only to enlist in the army after we graduated and get killed by Iraqi's only a month into the tour.
I'll never forget how the world’s greatest Air Force and North American Aerospace Defense Command failed to intercept hijacked commercial planes.
I'll never forget how only 1 group of brave Americans succeeded in denying the hijackers to do more harm, while 3 other groups of Americans allowed to be fought off with box cutters.
I'll never forget how The Patriot Act and FISA legislation resulted in a steady erosion of our 4th Amendment rights for our "safety".
I'll never forget how we formed a department of homeland security, when though we had a department of defense, isn't homeland security and defense the same thing?
I'll never forget the first time I got put on a funeral detail, for a marine my age who got killed in Iraq. I'll never forget how his mother started screaming and hitting us as we folded his flag. I can't forget how she sat there crying on the floor looking up to us and repetitively saying over and over again, "don't do this to your mothers"
I'll never forget after our first mission brief from our commanding general in Iraq, and I asked him if searching for Saddam and weapons of mass destruction was a priority, and he laughed and said no, and told me to shut the :censored: up.
I'll never forget how after I came back from Iraq how I was molested at the airport in my service uniform, for "safety"
I'll never forget how angry I was at the first 9/11 conspiracy theorist. I remember thinking that he was some special kind of retard you only run into a few times in your life. I was so mad at him for doubting the leadership of our country, but then I was more in doubt with myself when I realized that his theory he shown to me, was supported by evidence, science and physics, as the "official story" did not.
I'll never forget my the oath I made a while ago that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same. And if I'm lucky, God will be helping me.
When I started this thread, it was because, like 10Before15, it seemed most people had forgotten already what happened. I felt the people who died, especially the Emergency Responders, deserved better than that. Unfortunately everyone above is correct. We are still dealing with the aftermath, and I doubt if I see the end of it in my lifetime. One can only hope we come out of it stronger and better than we did before. But saying that, I am concerned about a lot of the issues above as well. That day changed us and continues to change our country.

So much sacrifice has been made. Too bad the politicians demagogue the issue for more power, they are the real enemy now. The "terrorist" were nothing more than punks that got lucky, they don't deserve the recognition we have given them. We should have brushed them off like a fly and kept on track like nothing happen. Making us fear is what they wanted and the government helped them to a victory. I'm not a big FDR fan but he got it right “The Only Thing We Have to Fear Is Fear Itself”
