I have read Gary Taubes's book. He has some unique ideas. These studies may change the way we all eat.

Well I almost posted this but didn't only because I figured no one had an interest. That said here is the deal for those of you who want or need to lose weight:

I weighed in a couple of days ago at 199.8 lb, I am 6'2, active and down from a high of 217. I lost this weight over a peroid of time (few months), did it without starving to death, in fact ate and ate plenty.

Before I go deeper let me pass on a few FACTS:

1) The rate at which you lose weight is also the rate at which you will put it back on

2) Diets DO NOT WORK, there is NO successful diet, never has been, never will be

3) Want to lose weight, keep it off then you must change your eating H A B I T S!!!

So how did I lose just over 17 lbs over an acceptable length of time, hit a weight that I have not been since 1988 and not starve to death, drink any 'magic' drinks and the rest of the BS?

It was easy, YES easy. I looked at what I ate and began there. It was carb heavy. Things had not always been that way. In fact until I met 'Donna' in '88 I was at 182=185 lbs. Donna had a master degree in Nutrition and the Govt had come out with their carb rich pyramid and skip the meats and other proteins. She bought into hook line and sinker and dating her for 2 years she slowly convinced me. Prior to that I was a heavy protein eater and had been all my life.

What does it take to make the shift? Not much, cut out pastas, breads and I am NOT saying cut out 100%, not at all. But more meat, more FRESH or FROZEN bright colored veggies, NOT canned! Skip the french fries, fruit juices, grains to include beer, beans, heavy starchy veggies, energy drinks and candy/sugar.

Eat more fresh fish, meat (trim all visible fat), seafood, nuts and fresh or frozen fruits (no sugar added).

Change your oils:
Avocado Oil
Coconut oil
Grass fed Butter
Macadamia Oil
Olive oil
Roasted Walnut Oil

BUY Extra Virgin, RAW, unfilter oils. Trust me you will love the taste of them.

Need to eat out a lot, ez: Ask for that hamburger 'skinny', no bun, just leaves of lettuce. Get a side salad, or if like me get the fries, eat some and save the rest of the dogs, they love them. Avoid the rich worthless fat salad dressings. Use the Avocado or Walunt oil and lemon juice on your salad, you will love it.

You will love it, not go hungry and the new found energy you have will be unbelievable, the wake up feeling better than you have in years will be amazing and your doctor and family will love you for it.

Its called the Paleo diet and based upon what we ate for thousands of years. Go for it, you will be glad you did. Even got my 5'8", 132 lb size 2 wife on it.
