Well said Sisco.
The AK platform is a very good one with several strong point. No need to every clean, most folks that have these do not get issued cleaning kits nor do they have a Bass Pro or Cabela's just down the street. It can pass all dirt, mud, water tests known to man. Its CHEAP to manuf and for countries that the average annual income is only a couple of Thousand US cheap is better. On the downside some may say its highly inaccurate...that may be but on the other hand most of the folks who carry it have never had a day of any quality military training in their life, nor will they ever. I dare say that we could put a extremely accurate weapon in their hands and their accuracy would not improve.
While we may say the objective is to kill or wound the OPFOR the reality is at first contact the objective is to get the OPFOR to put their heads down in order for you to maneuver and find a position to engage the OPFOR. In that scenario the AK does as good a job as anything out there.
All that said, in the final analysis I am posting and I can assure you the OPFOR I encountered are not and if by some chance the SHTF here in America and from my vantage point on the military crest of my hill I can see you and the weapon you carry. If you wish you carry a AK then my AR10 T is going to give you a call, long distance call. I don't think I am alone in my view, the worlds bad guys carry AK's, the right arm of freedom is an AR!
