I'm gonna be on and off all day today guys as I'm running around but if someone could find that other thread about the storms real quick, I know Lebben had put a link in there that will take you to a donation site for relief for some of the victims.
If someone could find that and copy it over to this thread, I would appreciate it. I just got in from doing one of my 40lb weight vest runs and hill climbs and I'm about ready to call the paramedics (not really) so a little help would be appreciated on this one....
Thank you and God Bless the victims and all who help...
If there is someone who can deal with SHTF it's Lebb, but an F5 packs the punch of a small nuclear weapon. I hope we hear from him soon as well, and prayers to those good people in OKC.
Here is the link Lebben included in one of his posts about supporting the efforts. There are 4 or 5 different ways to contribute in the linked article guys and I used the Red Cross. Some are a little more specific to the efforts but I'm familiar with Red Cross so I used them.
Speaking for all of out here in the Midwest :twothumbs: and a big Thankyou :twothumbs: My son went through the one in Joplin last year and I went through one in Wichita 1991 something you will never forget! I've seen straw punched through glass without breaking it and also stuck into the side of the old barn, and that's just for starters. You just can't believe the devastation
We have hurricanes here in the Northeast once in a while and had a big game changer last year for sure but at least we usually have plenty of warning so we can prepare and reduce the potential for loss of life and much of the property damage potential.
The horror of the tornadoes, at least from what I can surmise, would be the lack of warning time and then suddenly, you are just overwhelmed with the fury. Not to mention that quite often when they hit, your family is scattered all over the area at jobs or in school and you just freak out until you finally see them, IF you get to see them alive.
None of these disasters, floods, drought, hurricanes, tornadoes or even fires are anything to mess with but a fact of life and it's up to us, as Americans, Christians and just generally capable citizens to help when and where we can for those hit.
Prayers always, funds when we can, and a truck and a pair of hands if you are close enough along with essentials like water etc...
As for the grass or hay through telephone poles and stuff like that, I've heard of it but damn glad I've never had to live through it. God Bless all who do.
Don't forget to keep Lebben and everyone hit in your prayers out in Oklahoma everyone. We haven't heard from Leb for some time now and I'm hoping he's just busy but well.
