With all of the tornado activity ripping lives apart, floods, drought areas and crazy weather that is hitting our country - with one of our best, "LebbenB" - right in the mix, I wanted to set up a check in thread as well as thoughts, prayers and possibly links to send aid and anything else that can be done for disaster victims.

Lebben, when you get a few, please drop in and let us know you and yours are A-OK and either still on the move with aid or finally getting at least a little R&R for a bit.

Any members living in areas that have been either hit or were near misses, please check in and just let us know what's going on and that you are all ok.

Our Prayers are with those hit as well as those rushing to their aid.

:twothumbs: good idea. I just got off the tarmac into O'Hare Chicago from Montreal. We landed and they shut the airport down. We sat in the plane for an hour while they got over an inch of rain. Hope I get home tonight.

Lebb had a comment a couple of days ago in one of the posts.

Pray for the Okies, another one is ripping through now. God knows they've had more than their share of grief this year.

Yes, please keep them in thoughts and prayers.
A friend's friend lost his wife in the Moore storm, his two sons were severely injured. The Mom shielded the boys with her body when the tornado ravaged their home. She was a true hero. The boys are now out of the ICU.

I don't worry about him, he has an AR10 and he can handle anything...

Lebben is all soldier but tornadoes are no joke and they couldn't care less what we have for weapons.

People are losing their homes and their family members are being killed out there right now and he's probably smack in the middle of a lot of these hits.

I'm just praying he's either still carrying the relief effort to the lines or taking a break and not digging himself and his wife out of any messes out there.

God Bless him and the Mrs and all those in the path or that have been (or will be) in the path of these monsters.

Tornadoes are no joke when men, women and children's lives are in the path - along with their homes.

Indeed.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Emergency officials were preparing to survey tornado damage Saturday morning following the second major fatal storm to strike the Oklahoma City metropolitan area in several days.

The storm toppled cars and left commuters trapped on an interstate highway as it bore down during Friday's evening rush. Law enforcement officers and Red Cross damage assessment workers planned to head after dawn to areas in the city and its suburbs hit by what the National Weather Service reported were "several" tornadoes that rolled in from the prairie.

Five people were reported killed, including a mother and baby found in a vehicle. Amy Elliott, a spokeswoman for the state medical examiner, said early Saturday that she had no immediate word of additional fatalities. About 50 people were hurt, five critically, hospital officials said.
