Well guys it's time for another build!  I have chosen the KP-31 KIT Torch cut receiver :pinch: so ya know what that means, lots of work. If any of you have completed a build on the Suomi any guidance would be appreciated  otherwise I'll post up pixs as time moves along

Will do!
On the AK's I've built I just bought 80% complete receivers and built my own jigs to bend them, now with a can type weapon you can do the same. That is the easiest. All of the kits come in torch cut to BATF standards and well lets just say whoever cuts them does not know how to run a torch :pinch: I'm working on finding the prints to machine the receiver :S Although some kits do come a little nicer on the cuts and you are able with a good welder and the right fixture to reweld them. I prefer to have one piece of solid metal no welding, and keeping it original. Now to deal with keeping it legal I sill have some research to do and may have to get that class 3 for full auto. I didn't do much research in the start and now I find out that to make it legal it cost $$$$$ could have just bought one for the price, but I do like the challenge and hey if the Fins could do it in the 40's well now with the CNC equipment I have, no problem :cowboy: Now decisions on Full Auto or Semi Auto I'm liking the Full Auto cause I just like to blow :censored: up :twothumbs:
I have posted some pix in the Ak-47 group on those build, but should have done a better job at keeping everyone informed, but I tend to get in a hurry to get to the range and give them a try
Akai
And thanks for the interest :twothumbs: was wondering if any one else liked different types of weapons besides the AR type platform.
Guess the next build will have to be one of those guns :rotfl:
$64.00 KP-41 vs M-60 $4200.00 :pinch: :pinch:

Under 5 digits aint bad, at least it makes my wheels start turning! I think I can, I think I can, I think I can..........
Yea, that's what I thought! but I'm never that lucky, we'll see the kit will be here Monday. Some of the kits I have seen look just like the picture, but then the next looks like it just came of the battlefield! I'm hoping for the best  I will post pix when the kit arrives.
OK it been a long haul for this project, but the satisfaction of doing a build and doing it yourself is a great ego boost

The wood was left in original state as it was nothing like the nice stuff they show in the advertisement
I did order 2 kits with second yet to be built, this is probably one of the toughest build I have done :pinch:
I would not recommend for the average guy, unless you have a full blown machine shop as that is what it took. Or you will have to purchase most of the parts such as the fillers and the 80% receiver and at that cost you can just go out and buy the Suomi! Quality  take your chances :S
Now that the first is finished and I have been schooled, I just think it's at the top of my choice of guns, other than having to meet all our government regulations and weighing in at around 12lbs unloaded I think Lahti and the Finns got it right and the Russians copied it. Oh and whats next, Uzi,Beretta MP 38A, Lancasters, Stens, Sterling, Thompson M1928.
