Square, the company that takes credit cards.
They have decided they will only allow certain TYPES of purchases. If you want to buy guns, ammo and other sporting equipment they will deny the transaction.
" As of 5/9/13 Square has changed their underwriting policy to restrict the card present swiped sale of "firearms, firearms parts or hardware, and ammunition; or weapons and other devices designed to cause physical injury."
Apparently the folks as Square are not familiar with the free market and would rather work under a govt run society such as China or Russia. Their rather weak claim that devices designed to cause physical injury is the issue. In that case square do you also deny sales of hammers, auto parts, and especially auto baby seats...more children die in this country from auto accidents (kids under 13) then almost anything else.
That is just so.... square. I'm thinking someone will grab that market, even a fraction of a percent would be a huge chunk of change.
Do they really think square was the best name???? Tells you something right there.
Well I know one thing I am going to do. I have a friend with an Archery business that uses Square who is also in law enforcement. I am betting that they allow archery products. I am going to contact him and suggest he look for an alternative system and ask that he tells the company why. Enough of this game playing B.S. by supposedly "neutral" businesses. Also if someone starts to use Square when I am buying something, I will just cancel the purchase, and tell the vendor why.
I run into this all the time... 2Checkout (a Bank of America company) would not allow me to create a merchant account because this site deals with violence.
PayPal, Square, Bank of America ... they are all becoming very strict. The best thing people can do is to boycott those companies.
Someone told me an interesting thing today. He said there are 260,000± Marines, 500,000± Army .... but in Wisconsin there are 621,000 licensed hunters!
It puts into perspective what the government is afraid of when it comes to people owning firearms.
At the end of the day though I do not understand why you need to disclose to a CC company what you are selling. Their job is to process the transaction.

In Wisconsin, deer season is a religious holiday, I kid you not. So much for northern anti-gun states, Wisconsin, or Michigan, or Minnesota are not.
This is what happens when the govt starts telling a free people what to do, how to think, what they eat, how big a drink they can buy.
NO capitalist I know would ever turn down legit business.
When I was the CTO of a tech company a group called on us to host their websites. They were a BIG customer at about $12k per month in tech and support services. While I have no truck whatsoever with gay bs, fact is I was in business and our number one goal was to make money. That is what I told them. I did look over there websites to make sure it was legit and did not involve or hint at any underage activities. I told them any hint of that and I would report it to law enforcement.
Anyone who will not do business with gun owners is WRONG on so many counts. If I can find out how to contact the company I will do so and let me thoughts be known.
Square Stops Gun Sellers From Using Its Payment Technology
The relevant section was since amended to forbid sales from ”firearms, firearm parts or hardware, and ammunition; or… weapons and other devices designed to cause physical injury.”
Square, run by billionaire Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey...
