Any bets on how long it takes before a politician demagogues the issue?
I wonder how China will deal with this type of tech...........

I was just about to post this, it's crazy. Will be interesting to see how they address the risk factors of it.

Speaking of China, has anyone checked out the Chinese military small arms in the last few years? If you think they are running around with a bunch of old AK's and SKS's, you are in for a surprise. Especially their new 5.8 military cartridge.

Just imagine the money gangs will now be able to save with the simple purchase of a program and a 3d printer and supplies...

All day today on the drive home from Houston NRA the talk was full of this and Congress is already on it like a bass on a minnow.

Making guns out of non metal is older than the hills and twice as dusty. Bushmaster Carbon 15, Glock etc etc etc. Now tour any old prison with a museum and see what prisoners can do with toilet paper tubes. Zip guns have been around as long as someone sat in prison...

Ok the 3D sw and printer kicks it up a notch and now reality sets in: Rifling, chamber pressures, chamber design, TIMING, gas tubes and a 1000 other factors come into play. Frankly I am not impressed as we have had the tech so long to me its no big deal, now the price of the printer, ah now that is a different story.

To be honest I built one when I was about 10, piece of iron pipe, cap on one end some firecracker powder and a few pieces of gravel...worked good enough to bust up some coke bottles...
