A question I just gotta ask about anti mentality was created by 13fcolt
None of their bleating and crying ever makes any sense, but one thing in particular stands out.
Barrel shrouds. What is the fixation with barrel shrouds? Every time one of these morons speak, they mention this. They can't talk about evil black guns without saying barrel shroud at least once. Some call it a shoulder thing that goes up, while others claim it makes murders happen. Pull a remy or a savage off the rack at walmart and you have a rifle, but add a barrel shroud and it becomes a death ray that turns it's owner into an unstoppable bullet hose with a taste for children.

I do not get it. An average person can sit through a basic, one day firearms course, and with no prior knowledge, figure out that it makes no difference.
So what did a barrel shroud ever do? was there some catastrophic incident that a barrel shroud was used and I just have not heard about it? It's just freaking sheet metal.
What if I tie two barrel shrouds together and make deadly Assault nunchucks? I bet that's an NFA item right there, AOW stamp.

It's all meant to ramp up the hysteria. The government does not want an armed citizenry that can defeat its military. The current gun ownership in America is near or above 300 million. The left would like to make sure that all those guns are single shot firearms. It’s also some and mirrors to get you not to focus on the universal background check that will become a national database owned and controlled by the government.

It is just a distraction so we can all feel good that "all" they got was registration. Look at their history, they are perfectly content to keep taking small bites at each opportunity. It truly is just a shroud, on both counts!

It sounds evil too. Barrel Shroud....oooooohhhhh they are trying to hide their barrel so no one sees it....then they can kill and not be seen......ooooohhhh black rifle magic!

"• `(36) The term `semiautomatic assault weapon' means any of the following, regardless of country of manufacture or caliber of ammunition accepted:

◦ `(A) A semiautomatic rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any 1 of the following:

▪ `(i) A pistol grip.

▪ `(ii) A forward grip.

▪ `(iii) A folding, telescoping, or detachable stock.

▪ `(iv) A grenade launcher or rocket launcher.

▪ `(v) A barrel shroud.

▪ `(vi) A threaded barrel.

◦ (B A semiautomatic rifle that has a fixed magazine with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds, except for an attached tubular device designed to accept, and capable of operating only with, .22 caliber rimfire ammunition.

◦ `(C) Any part, combination of parts, component, device, attachment, or accessory that is designed or functions to accelerate the rate of fire of a semiautomatic rifle but not convert the semiautomatic rifle into a machinegun."

Would some please show me where this saves lives, how about just A life. There is no data to support this in any way

It's a dirvision attack, just like all their ranting. Instilling cahos all over the place, while we're busy debating the stupid stuff in a thousand different directions, they are doing everything possible to accomplish one of their main objectives, taking away our God given 2nd Admendment right, which will grease the rails to accomplish their other evil objectives. Not an opinion, just an observation.

Here is what I see is the end game:

The SCOTUS gave Congress UNLIMITED powers to tax, that is how they got ObammyCare under the illegal wire, calling healthcare a tax.
Now apply this same to gun owners. The govt has a database now of everyone that has bought a gun from a retailer. While they do not have make and model it makes no difference, they know you own a gun. Now lets tax it:

1) Our records indicate you purchased a gun in 5 Mar 2009, please pay the applicable tax based upon the gun you own (see attached list). If you have lost, sold or had your gun stolen please attach a copy of the police report and insurance claim.

2) Thank you for your prompt response, your tax $271.38 per year for your weapon. In addition you will need to purchase Liability Insurance for you weapon. This is available from Federal Weapons Insurance Program. For you weapon a 1 year policy will cost $158.64 annually. You wil include your payments pro-rated on your April 15 Tax Bill.

3) Failure to comply or dispose of your guns in a legal manner will result in a Class 1 Felony punishable by law of a $10,000 fine and up to 5 years in prison per gun, per offense.

Thank you for your cooperation contact the Office of Weapons Management or the IRS for additional information.

They've got no room in prisons NOW and they are going to threaten to put us all in jail for exercising our constitutional rights... Can you imagine the total lack of respect for the American citizen AND our constitution?

It's just so crazy...
