Getting shot and being an Astronaut does not qualify you to be any kind of an expert on guns, but it does make you a shill for Obama and the anti gun crowd.
I listened to Col AstroTurf being interviewed by Mike Wallace. Sadly as the interview went on, his expertise on guns grew and grew. "I spent 25 years in the Air Force and I know all about assault rifles". First they are not called assault rifles and we on here should know that. Calling them assault rifles grew out of the liberals thinking that they are AR's which STANDS FOR Assault Rifles, no, NO its not, it stands for ArmaLite and AR is trademarked. We call them battle rifles or by their nomenclature (M16, M4 etc).
Col AstroTurf was an Air Force Pilot and Astronaut, he was never issued or assigned a M 16 or M4. He ran out to his plane which crews work on it for him 24x7, jumps in, flies, comes back and heads to the Officers Club, or home, sleeps in AC/HEAT, eats out or BBQ a steak and hugs his wife and kids...(my dad was career AF, a pilot and an Officer)
Unlike him my time in combat of 15 mo and out of that I spent < 3 weeks in the rear out of the rain and heat, the rest of the time I had my butt in a rice paddy or some stinking hot jungle, I was issued and ASSIGNED a M 16. I fired more rds at the enemy that he has flying hours.
Pay: I drew $30 bucks a month COMBAT PAY, his flight pay was about $1000 per month and incentive pay was up to $25,000 per year, if he was eligible.
After listening to him in the Wallace interview I have lost all respect for him.
Now if Col AstroTurf is an expert, I have to wonder what am I?
